Asteroid
There are many interesting things that happen in the stars above us that make astronomy very pleasant. The truth is that the universe is something that keeps changing, moving, some will say things that are "alive" because you never know what you will see every night of the night given.
But from many celestial phenomena, there may be nothing as interesting as that when you see your first asteroid moving in the sky. To call an asteroid, astronomical "rock stars" together are a bad joke but an accurate depiction of how astronomy fans see it. Unlike the sun, planets and moons, asteroids move, always change and, if they appear in the night sky, are interesting and dynamic.
Like rock stars, asteroids have been given a fair share of myth and city knowledge. Many have linked the extinction of dinosaurs to the effects of large asteroids on earth. This theory has some credibility and, if true, it evokes some rather shocking images and hunch fears in the current species of curb on earth, mankind.
The fact that asteroids are fast moving space debris only makes their movements and activities more interesting and fun. Unlike the moon, planet, or star, the chance that an asteroid can hit the earth is entirely reasonable and in fact, there are many documented small asteroid cases that penetrate our atmosphere and leave some quite impressive craters on the surface of the earth.
Popular culture is happy to accept the idea of ??an asteroid impact. The idea has given birth to many science fiction stories that add to the idea that alien life forms can ride asteroids into our world and start a "world war" situation. But so far, the most talked about concept that has captured the imagination and fear of science fiction fans and the general public is another asteroid that crashed into the earth that could destroy life as allegedly happened to dinosaurs. In fact, the film "Armageddon" is based on this idea and the concept that somehow humans can prevent the disaster with technology.
But perhaps the best way to calm our fears and replace science fiction with science is with understanding and knowledge. Actually, there has been a lot of research on asteroid activity and a serious scientific community that has gained significant knowledge of these amazing celestial objects. A number of checks on asteroids have been made that have given us a lot of information about their composition and how we can predict their behavior.
We now know that the majority of the asteroids we witnessed come from the asteroid belt that exists between Mars and Jupiter. From this asteroid community, many famous asteroids appeared. Scientists have gained significant knowledge about the composition of asteroids and separated them into classes including class S which come from the belt part closest to Mars, classes C, D and V are classified according to composition and class called "Centaurs" the flying pattern carries they are closer to Jupiter and Uranus.
Several NASA probes have been carried out on close flying asteroids that have carried out quite extraordinary studies of eccentric celestial objects. In 1994, Galileo investigated 1,000 miles from the Ida asteroid and found that Ida actually had her own month.
Other probes have fired collisions at asteroids and even landed on asteroids to produce some amazing scientific data for us. There is much to be learned about asteroids in our love of astronomy and that knowledge only makes us happy to see them in the cosmos even more interesting.
